The Preston, Kansas Volunteer Firefighters are a dedicated group of community members who play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our town. These brave volunteers are there to respond to emergencies such as fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters. They put in countless hours of training, preparation, and service without pay, driven by their commitment to protecting lives, property, and our community.
Their primary job is to extinguish fires and prevent further damage, but they also provide rescue services, perform first aid, and assist in other emergency situations. Whether it’s a house fire, car accident, or a medical emergency, our volunteer firefighters are ready to respond quickly and efficiently.
In addition to emergency response, they also work on fire prevention efforts, educating the public on fire safety, conducting fire drills, and inspecting buildings to ensure they are up to code. They are an integral part of the community, fostering a sense of safety and security for everyone in Preston.
If you think you’ve got what it takes to be one of our volunteer firefighters, contact our Chief Greg Meireis. By participating in monthly meetings, engaging in regular training, and becoming a part of the team, you can join the hard-working group of individuals who make a difference every day. Without the Preston Volunteer Firefighters, our community would face much greater risks, and their selfless dedication keeps us safe in times of need.
